It is not for a day obsession...I've been educating myself about Prada Spring Summer 2000 runway show, each outfit styled and sent to runway, every detail in the ad campaign, accessories, interviews, fashion magazine scans I could find from that season and that year...But no backstage photos. Oh I wish it was different back then, like models filming and posting their outfits, selfies etc. But times were different back then. We were still under the strong influence of 90s. I was reading Seventeen not Vogue at that age. But I bought my first Marie Claire magazine in my small city...Prada is the most corporate rich brand to me but I was surprised to hear that Miuccia Prada was a leftie (that's cool). Ok, I checked every single online second hand/vintage designer store (from Berlin to New York) I could score 3 bowling bags from 2000s from that era. That's it. No shoes, no sandals, no mules, no lip print pleated skirt, no lipstick printed silk skirt, no pumps, no dresses, no polka dot print tops/skirts nothing. I know there are auctions of that über-famous lipstick skirt that was worn by Kristin Davis in SATC (which I finished watching 6 seasons straight from Netflix), but those ebay listings are super expensive and I just can't even look at how high buy it now price is. Japan ebay was a gem I know but I missed that train as prices peaked up like 4x. I found the lipstick skirt at Mytheresa dot com but the skirt is too long, I am kinda petite (1,66 cm) and the price tag is like 1200EUR (I need to win the lottery I tell you)...If I would even win the lottery I will buy one way ticket to Milan, shop from all my favorite Italian brands like Prada, Gucci, Miu Miu (PFW I know), Etro, etc.
I wanna go back in time with a time time machine to 2000 find my teenage self (who buys fashion magazines every month and dreams to be a fashion designer but got stuck studying BA instead) give her money to get visa and plane tickets to Milano, buy the lipstick print skirt + buy the bags + buy the sandals and come home...Put the in safe. Save them for your life and 25 years later VOILA! Now I am checking every high street brand every day to catch a steal: pleated polka dot skirt maybe... Cardigan in Prada style...Maybe...Pradaesque sandals? Pumps? Sizes...Second hand options...Everything...
And Prada never ever did a collab with HM...They don't match. That's all. Prada will never do high street said Ms. Prada. I had less luck than a research assistant. I did my work. I searched day and night. I am happy with my 3 bags. Two are in good condition but I could not buy them in my favorite colours but its fine. I will continue searching. That's what fashion addict do! That's what stylish at heart fashionista would do (living in a Nordic country for the last 10 years so I have no style in winter I am a snowman)....
